I make vessels, platters and sculptural forms for interior and exterior settings, as well as a fun range of larger sculptures specifically for gardens and patios.

My particular interest is in the use of coloured clays which I manipulate by twisting, rolling and cutting so that surface pattern is integral with the form itself. Subtle colour and texture combine to produce surfaces of an intriguingly tactile nature, sometimes stretched and stressed, almost in the same way as geological forces affect the earth’s crust.

A member of the Craft Potters Association and of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, I hold workshops/demonstrations and run occasional courses in my studio at Market Bosworth and residential courses at West Dean College in Sussex.

Author of “Colouring Clay” (A&C Black 2007).
