After completing a BA Hons in Ceramics with Glass Design at the University of Central England in 1998, Wendy designed for the ceramics industry both in-house and freelance before studying in Stoke on Trent for her MA, completed in 2003.
Following her MA she won many awards for her work, such as the Jaguar cars product design award at the RBSA open exhibition. Her work has been featured in Elle Decoration and exhibited nationally and across Europe. Wendy completed a PGCE at the University of Central England in 2005 and spent several years teaching Art and Design in school and University. Wendy now combines being an Artist Tutor at MAC Birmingham, teaching ceramics with running her own Contemporary Ceramics Practice, Wendy Tournay Ceramics.
During 2018 Wendy has worked with Edgbaston Michelin star restaurant Simpsons to produce unique handmade Petit Fours Plates. She was also commissioned to make gifts for their customers to commemorate their 25th birthday.
Wendy has been shortlisted in the Gift of The Year Awards 2019, Contemporary Gift Category for her Pure Cufflinks.
