I was introduced to the world of ceramics over twenty-five years ago when I enrolled on an evening class. Following on from this, I went on to do a UEI course at Bilston College in which I gained a distinction. This gave me the confidence to pursue a different career taking a B.Ed. Degree specialising in Design technology at Wolverhampton University. I stayed in teaching until I retired five years ago upon which I returned to my love of ceramics.

The natural world acts as inspiration for my work in which themes are developed from plants, fungi and rocks. My work is both decorative and semi-functional and ranges from wheel thrown pottery to garden sculptures. I colour the clays myself to produce my agateware. Natural colours obtained with the use of oxides play an important role in all of my projects.
